2019 Ford Ranger Review

Ford Ranger Productivity: You've Got the Power

There's a reason why the Ranger is Built Ford Tough®. Actually, there are several reasons. What are they, you ask? Let's find out!

It begins with a powerful 2.3L EcoBoost® engine, complete with 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, it's got a 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission, which helps optimize gear progressions for smoother shifting. When the commute is long, you can count on an EPA-estimated 21 city and 26 highway MPG to get you there and back without needing to stop and refuel.

If your job requires lots of gear, you'll find up to 7,500 pounds of towing strength-more than enough to handle it all. A maximum 1,860 pounds of payload provides plenty of strength as well.

Ford Ranger Capability: All Work & All Play

I know we've been talking all about the Ford Ranger's hard-working performance features, but what's life without a bit of fun? Thankfully, this truck is outfitted with a cluster of systems designed to bring your world some adventure.

Here's a peek at some of the Ranger's available off-roading features:

  • Trail Control
  • Terrain Management System
  • Electronic Locking Rear Differential

Pretty neat, right? Let's dive deeper into some of these features. One of our favorites is the Terrain Management System. When you want to head off the beaten path, this system has your back with four selectable drive modes. Another useful one is the Electronic Locking Rear Differential, which can come in handy if you find yourself stuck on tricky terrain.

Ford Ranger Technology: Keeping You Safe & Sound

No matter how careful you are on the road, there's no way to predict the habits of fellow drivers. Good thing the Ford Ranger offers Ford Co-Pilot 360™, a suite of driver-assisting technologies designed to boost your confidence on the road. Check out some of its helpful features.

Lane-Keeping System

Sometimes we can stray a bit too far from our lane. When this happens, the Lane-Keeping System will scan your vehicles position, sending an alert if you have wandered outside of the lines.

Adaptive Cruise Control and Forward Collision Warning with Brake Support

Highway driving has never been this fun! Simply set your preferred cruising speed and distance from the vehicle ahead and watch your Ranger do the rest. If the vehicle in front of you comes to a stop, so will you. It can also apply pressure to the brakes in the event of a possible collision.
